POSITION TITLE: Social Media Coordinator
WORK SCHEDULE: (Full time/Part time) Full-time
HOURS: 9:00AM – 5:00PM with evenings/weekends as required
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt Employee
POSITION SUMMARY
The Social Media Coordinator will support all of Get Lit’s programs and content. Through a strong understanding of social platforms they take an active role in all aspects of a social project—identifying brand’s issues, running competitive benchmark, forming recommendations, and building digital campaigns.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop overall social media strategy to drive engagement and increase followers;
- Assist in developing social campaign strategies from briefing to final reporting (setting goals and KPIs, targeting and segmentation, creative approach, post formats, budgets and media pressure, metrics and tracking strategy, A/B testing, and reporting);
- Maintain relationship with Social Media Platforms partners (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.);
- Build and amplify a consistent brand and channel voice;
- Ideate and execute timely, innovative daily content to engage our followers;
- Conduct insightful research to inform the creation of social content;
- Write and post copy for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat 2-3 posts daily appropriately maintaining brand voice across platforms;
- Maintain a posting schedule (and/or post) on Get Lit’s blog;
- Collaborate with PR/Influencer Manager to develop and execute the influencer initiatives on social media;
- Optimize blog content for SEO and update meta tagging;
- Pitch creative concepts for company-wide social media initiatives and campaigns;
- Stay on top of emerging social channels, analyze and formally present opportunities for growth;
- Capture photography and produce editorial for live events;
- Develop and maintain a weekly posting schedule across multiple platforms;
- Develop channel-appropriate content and campaigns to support editorial calendar;
- Report actionable insights and KPIs on a weekly basis;
- Monitor and report trends in social media and channel topics;
- Develop a cohesive, cross-channel platform content strategy;
- Develop, execute, and monitor client analytics campaigns utilizing various analytics tools including Google Analytics, Google Adwords, and Google Tag Manager;
- Coordinate all institutional communications projects including, but not limited to: monthly newsletter, MailChimp e-blasts, and marketing decks;
- Serve as an editorial eye to all Get Lit communications including but not limited to proofing various communication pieces and ensuring all communications have messaging and that all printed materials are well-written and proofed;
- Manage organization’s website content using web management software. Identify and implement marketing strategies for the all pages in conjunction with the Executive Director and website developer;
- Assist Get Lit staff with the planning and implementation of program and outreach activities (i.e. conferences, Open Mic Nights, trainings, workshops, Classic Slam events, etc.) and special events.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-4 years of experience managing multiple social media channels, website maintenance, and creation of marketing/communications collateral
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.
- Proven ability to engage, connect and build an audience across multiple channels
- Ability to interpret analytics, communicate results and formulate a strategy
- A passion for social media, and a positive, upbeat attitude
- A specific point of view on what we have built with Get Lit and how you would drive the social media and community growth
- Working knowledge of Macintosh and proficiency with Wordpress
- Familiarity with InDesign and Photoshop
- Understanding of Google Analytics
