**SOUND & LIGHTING DESIGNER NEEDED FOR YOUTH THEATRE PROGRAM**

 

B.R.I.D.G.E Theatre Project, an international arts organization, is seeking an experienced theatre Sound & Lighting Designer for tech rehearsals and performances by elementary and middle school youth in Lynwood, California (20 minutes south of downtown Los Angeles) for the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters. Students are in grades 4-8 and will be performing in two 15-minute original plays as well as two short ensemble performance pieces. The designer will be responsible for finding sound and music cues, and running sound and lights for the tech rehearsals and performance. 

 

REQUIRED FALL DATES:

  1. Tuesday, October 9 from 2:00-6:00 – Observe current designer during tech
  2. Friday, October 19 from 2:00-6:00 – Run 1st tech with sound and lights
  3. Tuesday, October 23 from 2:00-6:00 – Final tech rehearsal
  4. Thursday, October 25 from 2:00-8:00 – Invited dress & show

 

Spring 2019 semester dates TBD 

Total compensation for the fall semester is $400 + mileage. The ideal candidate is someone who loves working with children, is comfortable in a fast-paced working environment, and has an interest in becoming part of an expanding global theatre organization.

 

B.R.I.D.G.E Theatre Project is a rapidly-growing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering intensive theatre programs to youth, both locally and internationally. Our mission is to educate, inspire, and connect young people around the globe through intensive theatre education programs that encourage self-expression, foster self-confidence, promote cultural tolerance, expand world views and perspectives, and explore solutions to community problems through the creation and exchange of original plays and theatrical productions. In addition to our domestic work in Lynwood, CA, B.R.I.D.G.E has held programs overseas in Ecuador, Nepal, and for the past two summers in Rwanda. Founded in 2009, our name – Building Relationships and Inspiring Dialogue through Global Exchange (B.R.I.D.G.E) – continues to guide us in our growth and expansion.
