SOUND TECHNICIAN NEEDED FOR YOUTH THEATRE PROJECT

 

B.R.I.D.G.E Theatre Project is seeking a theatre sound technician (basic/minimal sound design will be necessary) for tech rehearsals and performances by elementary and middle school youth, creating socially-conscious theatre to inspire their local community. Students are ages 9-14 years old and will be performing in two 10-minute original plays as well as two short ensemble performance pieces. The designer will be responsible for finding some sound cues (6-10 cues per play), transition music for the show, as well as setting up speakers and 3 to 4 par lights. The sound technician would be needed in Lynwood, California (20 minutes south of downtown Los Angeles) for one or more of the following school sites (we are willing to hire multiple technicians to cover all the school sites):

 

-       School 1:

o   Fri, Mar 1, 2pm – 6pm

o   Tues, Mar 5, 2pm-6pm

o   Thurs, Mar 7, 2pm – 8pm (Dress Rehearsal & Show)

AND/OR

-       School 2:

o   Thurs, Mar 14, 2pm – 6pm

o   Tues, Mar 19, 2pm – 6pm

o   Thurs, Mar 21, 2pm – 8pm

AND/OR

-       School 3:

o   Thurs, Mar 28, 2pm – 6pm

o   Tues, Apr 2, 2pm – 6pm

o   Thurs, Apr 4, 2pm – 8 pm

AND/OR

-       School 4:

o   Thurs, May 9, 2pm – 6pm

o   Tues, May 14, 2pm – 6pm

o   Thurs, May 16, 2pm – 8 pm

AND/OR

-       School 5:

o   Thurs, May 16, 2pm – 6pm

o   Thurs, May 23, 2pm – 6pm

o   Fri, May 24, 2pm – 8 pm

 

Compensation is a minimum of $400 to a max of $500 (billing at $20/hr) for EACH school site. If the same technician is available to work all school sites, they will receive a minimum total of $2,000 (or max of $2,500). The ideal candidate is someone interested in grassroots socially-conscious theatre, comfortable in a fast-paced working environment, and enjoys being around children ages 9 and up.
