Art studio is seeking an organized and professional individual with gallery and/or studio experience to join a motivated and highly committed team as a full-time studio assistant.
This is a support position focused on assisting the studio in its exhibition, speaking engagement, publication and archive projects. In addition, this position will be responsible for overseeing registrar duties in the studio, including database management, as well as the flow and storage of artwork inventory. This position is expected to effectively and professionally communicate with galleries, museums and collectors as needed. They will work directly with the artist and studio director, and will support social media and digital content strategy. While these are the primary areas of engagement for this position, an interest in and willingness to participate in all aspects of the studio are expected.
Qualifications of the position include 2+ years of gallery, studio or museum experience and the ability to perform or learn the duties and responsibilities of the job. An advanced proficiency with PowerPoint and Photoshop is a requirement, as the creation of studio documents, PDFs, and presentation materials must be completed swiftly and with precision. Attention to detail and a sensitivity to nuance is also required. The ability to thoroughly and efficiently complete multiple projects in the face of shifting priorities is a must.
