Organization Description:
The Neighborhood Music School inspires minds and enriches our community through music education. Since 1914, the Neighborhood Music School has been offering low-cost music lessons on piano, violin, viola, cello, percussion, guitar, brass, flute, and voice to students in Boyle Heights and the surrounding communities.
Position Description:
The Summer Music Programs Intern will serve as a leader and coordinator of the Neighborhood Music School's special summer programs, workshops, events, and field trips. During the internship, the intern will work closely with the Executive Director, Program Coordinator, Program Assistant, Grant Writer, NMS Teaching Artists, students, and families to implement these activities. The intern will also develop marketing materials for these programs.
Skills/Knowledge Needed:
-Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) is a plus.
-Outgoing disposition and strong communication skills are a plus.
