THIS X THAT, an agency for architects, designers and artists, is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented summer intern. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the business, curatorial, or administrative aspects of art, architecture or design, or anyone interested in a career in writing, public relations or marketing. The intern will work closely with the founders on a variety of projects encompassing exhibition and event production, research, communications, and business development, and will be involved in all aspects of the company’s day-to-day operations, including press, sales, and general administration.
Responsibilities will include writing and editing project texts, creating project proposals and invitations, writing press releases and newsletters, researching and identifying potential partners for projects, and administrative tasks. In addition to working closely with the company’s principals, the intern will have the opportunity to work with emerging architects, designers and artists and gain firsthand experience in the workings of a startup business.
The candidate should be a strong writer and communicator, and will ideally have experience with Adobe Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign; Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Google Docs; MailChimp; and social media. The candidate must have reliable transportation and a laptop, and should be available three days/week with flexibility to work both on site at the West Hollywood office and remotely. Ideal candidate is available to start immediately. We can offer a combination of school credit and a stipend.
