About the Organization:
Venice Community Housing (VCH) has been developing long term, neighborhood-based solutions for low-income families and individuals for over 30 years. We own and manage 236 units of non-profit affordable housing, throughout Venice, Mar Vista, and Del Rey. We also provide comprehensive supportive services programs including job training, youth development, and family services.
Venice Community Housing works to reduce homelessness, maximize affordable housing, empower low income constituents, provide social services, and advocate for public policy that protects and strengthens the economic, racial and cultural diversity of Venice and other neighborhoods on the Westside of Los Angeles.
VCH's Arts Community Collective (ArtsCSquared) is seeking qualified artists to assist VCH in implementing art and/or creative solutions within our existing building portfolio through a creative collaborative design process with our tenants, YouthBuild students, and the surrounding community.
Artists will work collaboratively with VCH staff and a low income apprentice/intern, within the community context of Venice, Mar Vista or Del Rey. Projects will include public engagement with tenants, students and community members. We are seeking artists who will be creative partners in creating an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates diversity and inclusion.
ArtsCSquared's mission is to create artworks and creative solutions, with the goal of promoting community engagement and developing creative placemaking strategies. "Building Community: Advocating for Social Cohesion and Empowering through Cultural Creativity"
