Violin Instructor Opportunity Vibrant After-School Enrichment Program!

LA’s BEST has a handful of after-school violin instructor opportunities at elementary schools throughout Los Angeles (ranging from Wilmington to the San Fernando Valley). These classes are designed to use violin and music as a vehicle to engage children creatively, emotionally, intellectually, and physically, empowering them to explore and discover the opportunities in their lives.

Schools have two violin classes that each meet twice a week for one hour (somewhere between the hours of 2:30 and 6 p.m., with extra time and compensation for tuning). Students are in grades 2 – 5 and are primarily beginners. Each student is assigned his/her own violin are able to take them home each day to practice. Violin teachers have the support and resources of a program director but are also granted pedagogical freedoms.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in teaching, music education, and/or community outreach. Teachers can be either violinists or violists, but have to know solid violin technique and music foundation, communicate clearly, be able to engage with children, and have a clear passion for music, kids, and teaching!

Per LAUSD policy, proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.

Compensation is $50-$55 per lesson. If interested, please contact Christa Greenfader at [email protected] or 310.922.8055.
