As our Administrative Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both the gallery and auction house, handling a diverse range of administrative and personal assistant duties. From scheduling and correspondence to auction logistics, billing, customer service, fine arts research, and cataloging, you will ensure smooth operations at every turn. You will serve as the primary liaison between gallery director ROBERT BERMAN and internal/external stakeholders, showcasing your exceptional organizational skills and industry knowledge. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with a passion for fine art, sales, or executive environments, coupled with stellar customer service and communication abilities.
This role requires availability at our Santa Monica gallery from Tuesday to Saturday, 11am-5/6pm, with flexibility for show openings, auctions, and special events. Local candidates with access to transportation are preferred to assist with appointments and installations.
Since 1984, ROBERT BERMAN has led Santa Monica Auctions at Bergamot Station Arts Center, a premier hub for modern and contemporary art. Our independent auction house specializes in sourcing artworks of all mediums, hosting biannual auctions with live in-person and online bidding. Between auctions, the ROBERT BERMAN GALLERY showcases artists and facilitates post-auction sales. With over 40 years of experience, ROBERT BERMAN continues to shape the fine arts industry with passion and expertise.
Salary: Compensation starts at $18/hr with the opportunity to grow.
