Assistant General Manager
Hospital of Emotions | Los Angeles, CA
Hospital of Emotions is looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our team.
This is a hands-on management position for someone who is comfortable working in a creative, fast-moving environment where things change often and no two days are exactly the same.
You’ll work closely with the General Manager across the day-to-day operation of the experience, including staff, guest experience, inventory, purchasing, facilities, training, and overall operations. The role will have significant ownership and responsibility, with the opportunity to grow into a larger leadership position over time.
We’re looking for someone who is highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable making decisions under pressure. Someone who can walk into a situation that isn’t going according to plan, figure out what needs to happen, and keep things moving.
You should be someone who naturally takes ownership. You notice when something needs attention. You follow through. You’re comfortable managing people, but you’re also willing to jump in and help wherever you’re needed.
The right person will be:
A strong communicator and people manager
Extremely organized and detail oriented
Flexible and able to adapt quickly
Calm and resourceful under pressure
Comfortable taking initiative and making decisions
Someone who follows through and takes ownership
Comfortable learning new systems and processes
Willing to be hands-on when the situation calls for it
Experience in events, hospitality, entertainment, attractions, museums, retail, production, or other fast-paced operations is a plus, but we’re more interested in how you think, lead, and handle responsibility.
The opportunity
This position is designed to grow.
You’ll work closely with the General Manager and gradually take on more responsibility across the operation. The goal is to develop someone who can eventually operate the business independently and grow into a General Manager level role.
This is a good fit for someone who is looking for more than a title. You want to learn how everything works and eventually be the person who can run it.
Part Time | 3–4 days per week | Approximately 30–32 hours/week | $4,000/month
A few questions we’d love you to answer when applying:
1. Tell us about a time you had to manage through an unexpected or stressful situation. What happened, and how did you handle it?
2. Tell us about a time you took ownership of something that wasn’t technically your responsibility. Why did you step in?
3. This role involves constantly changing priorities. How do you decide what needs your attention first when everything feels important?
4. What interests you about growing into a larger operations leadership role?
Please send your resume and responses to the questions above.
