AMOCA is hiring a paid summer Curatorial/Interpretation Intern through the Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship Program. The selected intern will learn how to plan exhibitions, install and de-install artwork, research and write interpretive labels, and learn object handling techniques. They’ll also gain skills in object-based education techniques, arts administration skills, and best practices in public engagement.

The AMOCA summer internship is part of the Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship Program, which supports substantive, full-time summer work opportunities for college undergraduates in Los Angeles county. The internship will begin in June 2024 and continue through August, for 10 weeks.

Eligible applicants must:

Belong to a group that is underrepresented in this field, such as those defined by their socioeconomic status, cultural background, physical or other disabilities, geographical origin, and/or life experiences that add diverse and underrepresented perspectives.
Be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in either a bachelor’s degree program or an associate’s degree program. You should have completed at least one semester or two quarters of college by June 2024.
Attend college in, or be a permanent resident of, LA County.
Be a US citizen or permanent resident, or have valid DACA status.
Agree to work full-time for 10 consecutive weeks (not exceeding 40 hours per week).
Attend three mandatory Education Events and two Learning Community events, and submit an end-of-internship evaluation.

Salary: 

$17.50/hr
