Established by renowned contemporary painter Haleh Mashian, the gallery is celebrated for its distinctive curatorial approach and thought-provoking exhibitions showcasing both emerging and established artists from Los Angeles and around the globe. Specializing in bold, textured, and imaginative contemporary artworks, MASH Gallery also provides expert art advisory services tailored to private collectors, interior designers, and hospitality projects. With both a physical gallery space and a dynamic online platform, MASH Gallery connects audiences with art through curated exhibitions and innovative virtual experiences.

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site position located in Los Angeles, CA. The Gallery Assistant will support day-to-day operations including welcoming visitors, providing excellent customer service, and offering insights into exhibitions and artworks. Additional responsibilities include assisting with gallery administration, maintaining records, coordinating gallery events, and handling inquiries. The Gallery Assistant will also collaborate with the team to contribute to exhibition preparations and ensure the gallery space is presentable and inviting at all times.

Qualifications

Strong Communication and Customer Service skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor
Knowledge of and passion for Art and contemporary trends in the art world
Experience with Gallery operations and Gallery administration tasks
Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Proficiency in using basic office software, social media, and content management platforms
Flexibility to work evenings or weekends based on gallery events
Previous experience in an art-related or customer-facing role is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art History, or a related field is preferred

Part-time: 4 days per week, in-person
Hourly Rate: $20–25/hour depending on experience
